Stars like Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, and more made the coveted list of nominees.

The Golden Globes 2026 nominations were announced on December 8th. One Battle After Another and The White Lotus led the pack of nominations. Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Emma Stone, and more also earned nods for their performances. It’s the most wonderful time of the year: Awards season is officially just around the corner. To kick off the 2026 red carpet parade, the Golden Globes will air on CBS on January 11th, and once again be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser. Ahead of the ceremony, Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall announced the illustrious list of nominees on December 8th.
After a competitive year of cinema that featured box office record breakers like Wicked: For Good, Zootopia 2, and Sinners, along with star-studded flicks including Jay Kelly, One Battle After Another, and Marty Supreme, the tallies are in. One Battle After Another led the pack with nine nominations, while Sentimental Value scored eight and Sinners, seven nods. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo also received nominations for their respective roles in Wicked: For Good, making them members of a select group of actors to earn back-to-back nominations for the same role.

Also in this year’s race are Emma Stone for her role in Bugonia and Kate Hudson for Song Sung Blue, as well as Timothée Chalamet for Marty Supreme, George Clooney for Jay Kelly, and Leonardo DiCaprio for One Battle After Another.
Although Golden Globes are known to be the fun, slightly-less-serious younger sister, they often serve as a precursor for the most prestigious night of the year: the Oscars. The Academy will announce its 2026 nominations on January 22. Of course, the Golden Globes separate drama and comedy/musical categories, giving films and actors an even better chance of receiving an honor.
