Beauty and Strength of the Modern Goddess
…
CFDA: We absolutely didn’t see this coming, but immediately knew we couldn’t live without it. On Monday, Gap and Cult Gaia, the cult brand by CFDA member Jasmin Larian Hekmat, announced a holiday collaboration of 35 pieces for women and kids.
This Gap × Cult Gaia collection, which hits retail on October 10th, aims to “inspire inner confidence and individuality” via looks ranging from coats to slip dresses and details like chain link and gold hardware. Think denim bustier, backless classic shirts, and a vegan fur coat.
For the occasion, “GAIA” is spelled out in Gap’s signature arch logo on baseball caps and cropped logo sweatshirts.
“Reimagining Gap’s classic icons through Cult Gaia’s lens has been an amazing journey. The collaboration brought together Gap’s classics and everyday wearability with Cult Gaia’s sculptural and artistic approach, merging our two distinct creative forces,” Larian Hekmat said. “Each piece in this collection is thoughtfully designed to inspire creativity, blending art and function in a way that feels unique and timeless.”
The accompanying campaign is a tribute to “the beauty of womanhood and the modern goddess for which Cult Gaia is named.” Louise and Maria Thornfeldt shot the images featuring Tina Kunakey, Kristina Byerley, Kelly Lim, Irene Law, and Christen Rhule.
As Gap brand President and CEO Mark Breitbard put it, “This collection with Cult Gaia is a beautiful reimagining of Gap icons with a partner who shares our obsession to product detail.”
Start shopping the collection on gap.com and at select Gap stores on Thursday!
