Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky are officially parents. On September 11, People confirmed the singer, 40, and her fiancé welcomed their first baby together. Page Six was the first to report the news. Reps for Gaga did not immediately respond to InStyle’s request for comment.

Mother Monster has long been open about her desire to start a family. In a March 2020 interview with InStyle, she shared she was “very excited” to have kids. “I look forward to being a mom,” she said. “Isn’t it incredible what we can do? We can hold a human inside and grow it. Then it comes out, and it’s our job to keep it alive. It’s so funny—everyone works out of my house every day. When they come in, I always say, ‘Welcome to the Womb!’”

Speaking with Buzzfeed Canada in September 2024, when asked what she hoped to manifest in the next 15 years, she also said, “You know, I’m so happy to be in love, and I’m so excited to have a family. So, that’s definitely number one.”

In another interview, Gaga shared the one thing she and Polansky wanted for their future children: an open understanding of artistry. “I would want my children to understand that whatever my artistry means to them is totally up to them,” she told Elle UK in January 2025.

“I would never actually want to shape it or tell them how to think about me. Maybe other than that I just did my best. And tried to stay true to myself along the way. That’s something Michael and I have talked about a lot—allowing our kids to be their own people. It’s such an intense thing for kids coming into the world. And they’re told how to think and what to believe in and how to eat…I just kind of want to let my kids find out who they are.”

The pop star confirmed she was engaged to the tech mogul back in July 2024, when she introduced Polansky as her fiancé at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. He proposed to her with a 10-carat diamond engagement ring reportedly worth $1 million, featuring a blade of grass, pink ombré diamonds, and a hidden diamond halo.

Though the couple is relatively private, Gaga has not been shy to share her love for her longtime partner. For Polansky’s 42nd birthday in September 2025, which she called her “favorite day of the year,” she shared a sweet tribute on Instagram alongside romantic photos of the couple. “Happy Birthday to my honey. I hope 42 is your best year yet, you have done so much in your 42 years I am so proud of you every day—and so grateful for this day you came into the world, it was the most special day.”
