Art Basel Miami is back and bigger than ever.

L’OFFICIEL ART: Art Basel Miami is returning again in 2022 for one of the North American region’s largest and most comprehensive annual art fairs. The highly anticipated event takes place in Miami, Florida each year, and is a creative hotspot that shouldn’t be missed. Culminating exhibitions from artists all over the world, for a week, Art Basel Miami brings an extensive list of galleries representing the height of art to be explored and enjoyed. With the amazing weather, the beach, the art, and the food, Miami is the perfect place to host an event like this. What could be better?

What are Art Basel and Miami Art Week? 

Art Basel is a global platform promoting connections and dialogue between prominent artists, galleries, and collectors globally. Featuring fairs in Basel, Hong Kong, and Miami Beach, Art Basel sets the stage for presenting some of the greatest artworks from a diverse body of artists.

When are Art Basel and Miami Art Week?

November 28 through December 4, 2022.

Where is Art Basel Miami held?

Like last year, Art Basel Miami 2022 will be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, where 213 top galleries will be exhibited to show their major works. Tickets can be booked through Art Basel here, including combination tickets for both Art Basel and Design Miami/.

Design Miami/

WHAT: Design Miami/ will return to Miami Beach this year for the Art Basel fair. Featuring a series of galleries and exhibitions, Design Miami/ explores different themes within design, architecture, art, and fashion. Keep an eye out for their announcements for galleries to be featured during Art Basel and Miami Art Week.

Untitled Art

WHAT: The leading independent art fair that takes place on the Miami Beach sand is coming back this year with a lineup of contemporary and emerging artists. Untitled Art is returning with bright new exhibits to highlight the vibrance of the art world.

WHEN: November 29 through December 3, 2022.

Pérez Museum

WHAT: The Pérez Art Museum Miami’s lineup of events, exhibitions, and programs for Miami Art Week are exciting and extensive. The exhibitions featured include Leonardo Erich: LiminalMariano: Variations on a ThemeSimone Leigh: Trophallaxis, and Christo Drawings: A Gift from the Maria Bechily, and Scott Hodes Collection.

Rubell Museum

WHAT: The Rubell Museum will be holding three new exhibitions for Art Basel. The exhibitions include a solo show by artist Alexandre Dion, a presentation of new acquisitions, and highlights from the collection.

Saatchi Yates

Tesfaye Urgessa, “Love Doesn’t Grow on Trees 2,” 2022.

WHAT: Ethiopian artist Tesfaye Urgessa will head to Miami with the exhibition Saatchi Yates. Urgessa is best recognized for his unique works representing race, politics, identity, and Ethiopian iconography. Featuring 15 of his new pieces, Urgessa’s talent over his subject matter shines through. Consisting of abstract human figures and defined schematic features, the contrasting elements of his artworks are stark. His newest work expands on his own experiences and frustrations related to race, evoking strong emotion with each brush stroke.

Museum of Graffiti

WHAT:  The Museum of Graffiti will feature a series of exhibitions and events during Miami Art Week. The first to be featured is the Olé outdoor/indoor exhibition, which showcases the works of four Brazilian graffiti artists, Ise, Thiago Ness, Fink, and Skill. The museum will also host an interactive exhibition by Writers on Wax, which combines artists’ visual graffiti works with music works for an immersive experience. The Mi Campo Artist Lounge will be located on the museum grounds and will feature print signings, collectible releases, and fashion customizations by Dalek, Todd James, and more.
