NYLON: Trying to be seen for who she really is has been, in many ways, the story of @camila_cabello’s career. From her start in Fifth Harmony through the big identity statements of her solo records to her time in the celebrity gossip crosshairs, her desire to be understood is deeply felt — perhaps no more so than on her latest album, “C,XOXO, ” a kaleidoscopic tribute to her hometown of Miami. At the heart of the record was a desire to define her own experience of Latinidad, but to truly understand Cabello’s vision, you have to also understand the city that raised her.
