She’s looking more Morticia than Wednesday.
…
At one point during the event, Ortega tied a gray scarf around her hair in the exact same shade as her fitted leather suit, upping the retro-glam vibes with a femme fatale twist. The scarf was so perfectly draped around her head that it looked cinematic in and of itself, with the swoopy bangs peeking out just so. If Morticia Addams wore a color other than black or if Wednesday visited her family after a few years abroad in Paris, this is exactly what she’d wear—regardless of the season!
“I was immediately inspired when I saw that the head wrap would be part of the ensemble,” hairstylist Cesar Ramirez said of the look. “I’ve been loving the freedom to play with Jenna and draw inspiration from vintage hairstyles. I love that we are paying homage to iconic Hollywood, as she is becoming an icon in Hollywood herself.”
Ramirez blew out Ortega’s hair with a round brush and L’Oréal Professional AirLight Pro hair dryer, then created pin curls and let them cool, then brushed them out. To create the kiss curl, Ramirez brushed her hair forward and sculpted it into the defined curl, sprayed it with hairspray, and used the AirLight Pro to set the curl in place.
While a full-on leather suit may not be the most summery ensemble of all time, Ortega’s curls and scarf are seasonless, as is her deep black cat-eyeliner. Ortega’s short nails were painted a very on-brand dark cherry red in a similar shade as her soft ombré lined lip; her lips were lined with a warm dark brick shade and a light rose color inside.
Ortega has quickly become one of our favorite red carpet stars because she always does the unexpected, like dyeing her hair a black cherry color at the beginning of spring or bleaching her brows just for a change. The black cherry hair color is still present and accounted for as we move into summer, though it appears to be just a touch lighter, with pretty glints of a rich auburn red.

Note: Wednesday season two doesn’t premiere until early August—a great way to start shifting into fall mode, TBH—but this goth-glam look has given us enough unexpected summer beauty inspo to last the next few months.
