Wes Gordon and Elizaveta Porodina launch ‘COLORMANIA’

Carolina Herrera Creative Director Wes Gordon has collaborated with photographer Elizaveta Porodina on COLORMANIA: Color and Fashion, a new book in partnership with publishing house Rizzoli.

Featuring a foreword by British Vogue Editor in Chief and Vogue European Editorial Director Edward Enninful, COLORMANIA is a culmination of four years of creative partnership and a celebration of fashion, color, movement, and beauty, featuring muses of different disciplines. For example, dancer Wendy Whelan, model Maggie Maurer, and musician/actress Dove Cameron all grace the pages of the book.

“The entire philosophy at Carolina Herrera is to embrace color, beauty, and alegría de vivir. Elizaveta photographs in a very distinct painterly style, whereby she swaths color like a painter brushes color on a canvas. Her style resonated with me from the first time I saw her work,” Gordon said. ”She changed the look of the Carolina Herrera woman through makeup, hair, and attitude, but recognized the woman I always design for—a woman who is, at her essence, so very alive.”Porodina added, “The unified aspect of the photo shoots is that they were heavily inspired by fashion illustration and heavily centered on the muse. At heart, they were basically studies of color.”
